When youtube was sold for 40 million to GOOGLe, nobody expected the growth it would accumulate. As of 2012 YT earned 3 Billion in yearly revenue, w/nowadays everyone and their mother becoming Youtube Partners, yearly ad revenue earned by youtube only has risen. Videos are now an integral part of the machine called Humanity, whether baking lemon squares or assembling weaponry, vids show us all. YT’s inception spawned other video hosting sites like DailyMotion, &Vimeo, with same premise just different UI. This current Technological age affords us to change our lives by enriching it with cold hard knowledge.
Videos serve to show us how to’s on DIY projects, or provide us comical relief while teaching us how to play our fav instrument. Bandwidth expansion has afforded us a lot of unique content. Back in the late 90’s, it was near impossible to upload a 200,000mb video via a p2p network, but now these days you can upload 2-4 GB files onto youtube’s database at 4K resolution w/out burning up your ISP bandwidth cap.
